Manchester United's hopes of reaching the next round of the Europa League suffered a blow as they went down 2-0 to Liverpool at Anfield.
Fans on Twitter were not amused with what they saw tonight with many again asking the club to sack manager Louis van Gaal.

Passing the ball about like we're 3 - 0 up, possibly the worst United team I've ever seen play football #mufc

There is no hope for #MUFC under #LVG, #LFC have a massive chance to advance into QF, MUFC can be knocked out, & can't finish in top 4, over

Can't say I'm pleased with the performance. Bad passing and scared defending. United needed to act more like United. Bad game. #mufc

This @ManUtd team is really ridiculously poor!!! Zero consistency all season and tonight's lacklustre performance showed why!! #MUFC
