Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal says he is ready to fight to keep his place as club manager.
Recent reports claimed that the Dutchman offered to resign after last week's 1-0 home defeat against Southampton.
He rubbished the rumours and criticised those who started the rumour.
"You make your stories and people believe it," van Gaal told reporters on Thursday.
"I am very concerned that people are believing what you are writing, because I received a lot of calls and SMSs. It is this world that you can write what you want and you don't have to verify anything.
"It is the third time I am sacked and I am still sitting here. Now I cannot lose any more - then for the fourth time I have been sacked.
"There are some people that I like because they put a question in a very respectful way, but a lot of it is also in a disrespectful way.
"When your confidence is not so high, you can fight against it, but I always fight. I am always fighting. When you fight, you have a bigger motivation than when they support you."
