Midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger could be in the squad to face Liverpool, Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal said on Friday.
The Germany international appeared to be in a lot of pain during United's 1-0 win over Sheffield United in the FA Cup.
He did not feature away at Newcastle United in mid-week but could return to face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
"I think we have the same injuries as before," van Gaal told MUTV.
"Maybe [Bastian] Schweinsteiger is coming back but that is not sure. It is very tight to regain – he needs more time, I think.
"[Michael Carrick] is also injured; we have forgotten to mention it but he was injured. He is still injured so he cannot play either.
"[Phil] Jones is possible but [Marcos] Rojo, [Antonio] Valencia and [Luke] Shaw need a longer time. They are not ready yet.
"[Adnan Januzaj?] We have taken no risk and we have built him up in our way of training sessions. Now he can be on the bench or he shall play in the second team."
On Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp he added: "You can see a very aggressive and pressing kind of playing the game.
"He has to learn the rhythm of the Premier League.
"He knows already the difference between the German and Premier Leagues. He is very capable to be a manager in the Premier League. The fans will love it."
