Paris Saint-Germain winger Angel Di Maria says he left Manchester United after manager Louis van Gaal changed his position after he recovered from injury.
The Argentina international left Old Trafford after the club accepted a £44.3m bid from the French giants.
And he revealed that he had a "number of flare ups" with the Dutchman during his stay at the club.
"van Gaal has his philosophy and it is one of the reasons why I wanted to leave Manchester United," Di María told ESPN Radio.
"I made a very good start and then I got injured. Things weren't quite working for me and Van Gaal changed my position.
"It's difficult to adapt to Van Gaal. I had a number of flare ups with him."
