Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal admits new signings are required if the Red Devils are to be title contenders this season.
Robin van Persie, Radamel Falcao and Angel Di Maria have all left the club this summer but United are yet to sign a new offensive player.
The Dutchman is after a fast and creative type of player with Barcelona striker Pedro a possible transfer target according to recent reports.
"We're not on schedule to be champions because we need speed and creativity at the front," van Gaal is quoted as saying by Express Sport.
"Whether we can win the title [in the next two seasons] is dependable if we can buy players with speed and creativity.
"The hardest decisions are always which players you buy and which have to go.
"We know the Premier League is different to all the other leagues and players have to adapt."
