New Real Madrid signing Danilo Luiz da Silva says his love for the Spanish giants was the main reason why he snubbed offers from other important clubs, including Manchester United.
The Brazil international was paid €31.5m [£22] by Real Madrid and was unveiled as a new player at the Santiago Bernabeu on Thursday afternoon.
"Today, a dream comes true, which is signing for Real Madrid," he is quoted as saying by Marca.
"It is without doubt one of the happiest days of my life. I am going to give it my all on the pitch in each and every game.
"I know no other way of competing, and so – Let's go, Real!.
"Cafu is a role model for all Brazilian full-backs and is one of my idols, but I don't usually compare myself with anyone because I have my own attributes.
"I want Danilo to be Real Madrid's future. I don't want comparisons with other players: I work hard to be unique.
"I like working hard. It's easy for me to do what the coach asks for, both defensively and in attack. I won't have any problems [on that front]."
