Argentina legend Juan Roman Riquelme admits he regrets turning down the chance to play for Manchester United.
The 37-year-old was approached by the Red Devils when at Villareal but opted to stay with the Spanish side.
Eventually, he left the club to return to Argentina where he spent the last years of his professional career.
"The only thing I regret in my career was a decision that I took, when at the hotel in England before the semi-final with Arsenal, when Manchester United came to buy me and I said no," Riquelme told FOX Sports Radio.
"I stayed at Villarreal, because I was very comfortable with my teammates."
