Juventus face battle with Internazionale for Manchester United striker

By

Juventus and Internazionale are both ready to make a fresh move for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, according to As.

After signing Mario Mandzukic from Atletico Madrid, the Serie A champions are after a backup striker with coach Massimiliano Allegri identifying the Mexican as a possible target.

Internazionale are also after a backup player for regular striker Mario Icardi with several Italian newspapers claiming that an offer has already been made for the 27-year-old.

Meanwhile, midfielder Juan Mata has urged boss Louis van Gaal to keep the striker at Old Trafford.

"Chicharito still belongs to Manchester United and selfishly I'd like him to be with us," Mata is quoted as saying by Goal.com.

"He has scored goals in every team he has played in and is a very smart striker.

"Chicharito is a great friend. When I arrived to Manchester he behaved great with me. He is a great person and a great professional.

"I've been lucky enough to share a dressing room with Chicharito, whom I admire."
