Manchester United have added Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris as a possible target for the summer transfer window.
It is now almost certain that 24-year-old David De Gea will be one of Rafa Benitez's signings at Real Madrid.
To replace him, boss Louis van Gaal is determined to make a move for a player who already has experience in the English Premier League and the 28-year-old Frenchman fits the bill.
Spurs conceded 53 goals in the Premier League this season but they could have been more had it not been for the heroics of the France international who was superb when the Red Devils faced Spurs last December.
Head coach Mauricio Pochettino insists the player is happy to stay but the club would listen to offers higher than £25m.
"There have been a lot of rumours, but Hugo wants to stay with us and we are happy with him too," Pochettino is quoted as saying by The Daily Mail.
"He is happy and everything else is just rumour."
