Manchester United are ready to again embark on a summer spending spree as they eye a Premier League return for midfielder Gareth Bale.
The Wales international has an estimated transfer market value of £85.3m with boss Louis van Gaal considering the 25-year-old as his top priority for this summer's transfer window.
Bale was already a target for the Red Devils before he opted to move to Spain with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez confirming that an offer was made by the Manchester club.
Earlier this month, agent Jonathan Barnett has dismissed criticism of the Welshman's display in the Champions League against Juventus saying that he is happy to be at the "biggest club in the world".
"Why should we take any notice of irrelevant comments from people who don't know what they are talking about and people who failed in management?", Barnett said.
"He is at the biggest club in the world. He is one of the best players in the world. He is fine."
