Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal says Monday's FA Cup quarter-final against Arsenal could play a psychological part in the battle for a top four finish.
Both teams registered Premier League wins on Wednesday night with the Gunners keeping a one-point lead over the Red Devils.
The two teams will meet again in the penultimate match of the Premier League and the Dutchman believes that a win on Monday could be the perfect way to approach the last few games of the season.
"When you win, it has a good influence on the next game," van Gaal told reporters on Thursday.
"After the defeat at Swansea [City] we won two games, so we have a good feeling.
"We're in a rat race in the Premier League and whoever wins on Monday will have good momentum for the league games.
"I want to achieve the goals we've set. That goal is to reach the top four, and a trophy would be fantastic."
