Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal says a change in style in the second half was the key to his side's 2-0 win over Queens Park Rangers.
Marouane Fellaini replaced Juan Mata at the start of the second and the Belgian responded by firing the Red Devils in front before James Wilson's late goal secured all three points for United.
"I think that when you win, everybody is happy and more comfortable," van Gaal said.
"We lost to Southampton last time when we were the better team with the better chances.
"We played in the first half like QPR wanted us to. We did the same thing as them, through the air and long balls. QPR are better than us at that.
"You have to play on the ground and in the second-half we changed the shape. That helped us also. But the players are winning always.
"They have to show it on the pitch at the right moment and that is very difficult to do it very good every week.
"I think pace is always important, which is why we try to play with Angel Di Maria as a striker.
"When I changed the shape, I wanted speed or pace also in the attacking line, that's why I changed in that way. It's a change in attack that brings lot of risk, but we have won 2-0 and I think it was deserved.
"The defensive organisation has been good from the beginning.
"We have only one match against Leicester City that was five goals and, because of that, we had bad average against us, but I think we have a very good defensive organisation so that is not a problem."
Striker Falcao failed to take advantage of a number of goal-scoring opportunities but van Gaal says the 28-year-old did well despite the missed chances.
"In the first half we created only one chance which I think Falcao had to score and then he had three chances in the second-half," the Dutchman said.
"It's not important what I think about Falcao because he wants to score goals. I have to judge how he has played and scoring goals is an important aspect of a striker.
"But for me it's also important that he can be an attacking point of the attack and I think he did well."
