Hull City manager Steve Bruce revealed the Tigers have met with Manchester United to negotiate the transfer of Tom Cleverley.
The Tigers join Valencia, Everton and Aston Villa in the chase for the 25-year-old with Bruce uncertain about the progress of negotiations.
"There has been conversations between the two clubs and we did have some sort of offer," the Hull City boss said.
"Where we are up to between the two clubs I am not too sure because I have been away in London.
"If there is a deal to be done to try and get somebody like Tom then of course we would be interested."
The midfielder is not part of Louis van Gaal's project and is open to a move away from the club in order to enjoy regular football.
