Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini was happy after his side battled past Swansea City 4-2 at the Liberty Stadium.
The win means the Citizens secured a place in next season's Champions League group stages.
The Chilean was also delighted with the performance of midfielder Yaya Toure who scored twice for his side.
"It was an attractive game for the fans. We needed to win to ensure we were in Europe. It was an open game," Pellegrini is quoted as saying by the BBC.
"We concede two easy goals but I am happy with the performance against a good team.
"I try to learn every day. We know we are in a difficult league. There are four or five teams with a strong squad and the same money to spend.
"If you don't win the league it is important to finish as strong as you can. It is important for me, the team and the project to believe in what we do.
"You must have conviction and I have it to be a strong team next season and go for the title.
"I didn't have any doubt about Yaya [Toure].
"Maybe the media started with him after his birthday. After that he went to Africa Cup and we couldn't win. Maybe an important player has more criticism but I never had doubts."
