Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini says there is still hope for his side to make it through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
It took Barcelona just 30 minutes to take a two-goal lead at the City of Manchester Stadium and to create more goal-scoring opportunities to increment the lead.
But Pellegrini's men improved in the second half, pulling one back through a Sergio Aguero striker.
And with the second leg coming up on March 18, Pellegrini insists his team can produce a major upset at the Camp Nou.
"If we go to Barcelona and play in the way we normally do, like we did in the second half, then we will have chances," Pellegrini said.
"If we play in the way we can play, we can do it.
"I must repeat though, that we cannot continue making the same mistakes and getting people sent off, as we had Martin Demichelis sent off when we played Barcelona here last year.
"Also when we have the ball we must be the team we are every week in the Premier League.
"It is not the best result to lose at home but we will go to Barcelona to try and win it. We still have the chance to try and do it."
Joe Hart's penalty save from Lionel Messi was celebrated like a goal by the fans, highlighting the importance of not losing the game by 3-1.
"It gives us more chance to win in Barcelona," the Chilean said on the penalty miss.
"It was a very important save, firstly because it was not a necessary penalty as we must control our emotions in the box, but also it would have been very difficult at 3-1."
