Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony says he didn't join the Citizens to sit on the bench.
The 26-year-old joined City in a deal that could be worth up to £28m and is ready to work hard to secure a regular place in Manuel Pellegrini's squad.
"People say 'he won't play there' but this is football, I'm going to fight," Bony said.
"There are so many strikers, but at least that the manager wants to pick strikers. So why not me?
"It was the same before when I came from Holland to Swansea, there was Michu, there were a lot of Spanish players, and it was very difficult to play.
"The most important thing is even if I get five, or ten minutes, or a half, I have to do my best.
"It was always important for me to get to the top. I'm happy about the expectation, because, yes, I did a great to job before, to get to go to Manchester City.
"It's a great challenge for me, but the work I did in the last four years earned it."
