Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini was delighted after the away 1-0 win against Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.
The Citizens completed a perfect week as they consolidated their second place in the table, moving eight points clear of third-placed Manchester United.
"I'm very happy because I think today was a very difficult game," Pellegrini said.
"It was a difficult week. We qualified on Wednesday but after that to play less than 72 hours later, it's not enough to recover 100%.
"That's why it was so important to win 1-0 and to defend the way we did. We don't have strikers. I'm very happy with the whole week and especially with this game."
Asked about how serious Edin Dzeko's injury is, the Chilean said: "The more injuries the more difficult it is to make a starting XI.
"With Edin Dzeko, it's very unlucky. We must see. Maybe we are going to be without the three strikers for at least one month.
"The spirit of the team is very important to resolve this kind of problem. We will see the way we have to play in these coming weeks."
