Manchester City have rejected an offer by Real Madrid to sign striker Alvaro Negredo on loan.
Los Merengues have reportedly turned down the chance to add Colombia's Radamel Falcao to their squad and have now made an unsuccessful approach for the 29-year old Spain international.
The Spanish giants are expected to make a new, £20m offer, according to As.
But speaking at a press conference on Friday, manager Manuel Pellegrini insisted the player is not for sale.
"In this moment Alvaro Negredo is part of our squad, we are not trying to sell him, and nobody has made a big offer," the manager said.
"One month ago maybe some Spanish clubs had some interest in him but that was one month ago."
Meanwhile, reports in England reveal that the City boss is ready to let Matija Nastasic leave this summer with Juventus and Roma both ready to make a move for the 21-year-old.
