Liverpool are ready to make a move for Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko, TuttoMercatoWeb reports.
The Reds are ready to offer £17m to sign the 26-year-old but they will face competition from Arsenal and Chelsea.
The Frenchman admitted that he is an admirer of former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira but also revealed that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is following his progress.
"Is he [Jose Mourinho] following my progress? According to what I am hearing, the answer is yes," Sissoko told After Foot RMC.
"He is one of the best managers in the world and he he's won so many titles – any player would love to be coached by this man.
"All players dream of playing in [the Champions League] and I hope to participate in it one day but I'm patient, waiting for my time."
In February, the 25-year-old revealed his admiration for the Gunners.
"Arsenal made me dream when I was a youngster," Sissoko told beIN Sports.
"Patrick Vieira was my idol. I saw myself in him."
"You will have to ask my agent [about a possible move to Arsenal]. For now, I'm a Newcastle player and I am happy at the club.
"I want to play in major competitions and I want to do it with this team."
