Boss Brendan Rodgers insists the FA Cup remains an objective for Liverpool.
The Reds will be strong favourites to reach the semi-final of the competition when they take on Blackburn Rovers on Sunday but the Northern Irishman says his players will not underestimate Gary Bowyer's men.
"We've made clear our intent in this competition, which is to get to the final and win it," Rodgers told reporters on Friday.
"To do that, you've got to beat different types of teams and different styles of teams. Blackburn will come and look to make it difficult for us.
"We'll give them the same respect as we'll give Manchester City or any other team. In the FA Cup, we've given everything we can to win a trophy, whilst trying to fight to get into the top four.
"So the objective is very clear - arrive as high as we possibly can [in the table] - not just fourth - and win a trophy. If we can do that, it would be success."
Meanwhile, Rodgers says it will be "brilliant" to see Luis Suarez back to Anfield later on this month for a unique charity match.
"It will be great. We have kept in contact since he has been away," he said.
"He is obviously a top-class player and loved his time here at Liverpool. He always wanted to come back [for the game].
"He has got something internationally but he is making every effort off his own bat to come back. It will be brilliant to see him and great for the supporters.
"He loved Liverpool while he was here. He took the opportunity to go to another country and play his football, but he's certainly adored here at Liverpool."
