Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers was delighted after his side reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
The Reds recovered from a slow start against Crystal Palace with Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana giving Liverpool the perfect start in the second half with two goals inside the first 15 minutes.
And Rodgers says it was important to win at the Selhurst Park to forget the disappointing defeat suffered in November.
"It was a really good win against a tough team today, but I thought we deserved the win," Rodgers told BT Sport.
"It wasn't a good feeling the last time we were here in terms of our performance level, that was a real adverse moment for us and from that the team has got better.
"We started slowly but once we scored we took control. There's a great resilience and the team are functioning really well.
"After we scored I thought we were very good. We had 15 efforts on goal in the first half but we weren't aggressive enough.
"I wanted us to keep the width on the pitch, we changed it around at half-time and it worked well for us.
"Mario Balotelli has quality and he has impacted on the two games this week really well.
"Daniel Sturridge is a natural goalscorer. The worry is that his team-mates are joining in with his dancing!"
