Manager Brendan Rodgers says striker Daniel Sturridge will be slowly reintegrated into the Liverpool team after returning from injury.
The 25-year-old played more than 20 minutes away at Bolton Wanderers in the FA Cup on Wednesday but the Northern Irishman believes the Englishman is still not ready to feature for the full 90 minutes.
"It's just managing that game time. He's [Daniel Sturridge is] a top talent," Rodgers explained.
"Obviously when he's fully fit, he plays - it's as simple as that.
"He's not at that stage yet, but he's a great player for us at the moment to come off the bench, and he is getting there every day."
Asked about the injury suffered by 20-year-old Lazar Markovic, Rodgers said: "Lazar was just his back - it was a bit sore, but we'll assess that in the morning.
"Raheem [Sterling] is fine. I think he got a couple of heavy tackles against him tonight but he is very robust and strong. He'll be fine."
