Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says the Raheem Sterling row was blown out of proportion.
England boss Roy Hodgson was quoted as saying that the youngster asked not to feature against Estonia but Rodgers insists that there is no row between himself and Hodgson.
"It's been grossly unfair how Raheem has been criticised for something he did not say," Rodgers said during Friday's press conference.
"[But] Roy and I have exchanged messages, we want to put this to bed and move on, and concentrate on looking after a huge talent."
Rodgers also confirmed that striker Daniel Sturridge is training with the squad and will be assessed on Saturday morning.
"We'll see how Daniel Sturridge is tomorrow. He's training and looking well. Emre Can and Joe Allen are back in.
"Daniel has made us a real threat and when you take him out of the team the model of your game is different.
"But when he is playing he is one of the top European strikers. It's important for him to be playing games."
