Chelsea are closing in on a £35million deal to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from London rivals Arsenal, according to Metro.
The Englishman featured in Arsenal's first Premier League game of the season against Leicester City.
But his future at the Emirates remains uncertain amid rumours that he is wanted by the Blues and Liverpool.
Last week, manager Arsene Wenger insisted that the player will not leave the Emirates this month.
"Yes [he is part of my plans], I think in his career he had some bad moments because he had some small injuries," Wenger said on Wednesday.
"Last year he was much more stable. Personally, I think he is a hugely talented player. He is on the way up and he will continue to move up because that potential is there.
"He is today very conscious of his qualities as well, which he was not always, and I personally believe he will be a very great player."
