Chelsea have confirmed that midfielder Lewis Baker has extended his contract with the club and has joined Middlesbrough on a two-year loan deal.
The 22-year-old was part of Antonio Conte's squad this summer and played against Bayern Munich in a pre-season friendly.
He spent last season on loan at Vitesse.
Boro boss Garry Monk confirmed earlier this week that he wanted to sign the youngster before the end of the summer transfer window.
"He’s one we are obviously targeting," he told reporters.
"We are hoping it will be resolved. Whichever way it goes it will be resolved."
Baker turned down offers from West Ham United and Bournemouth in order to enjoy regular first-team football in the Championship with Middlesbrough.
