Chelsea have confirmed on their official website that midfielder Nemanja Matic has passed a medical and signed for Manchester United.
The transfer of the Serbian means that the 28-year-old will work under manager Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
The Blues were full of praise and gratitude for the Serbia international in their farewell message, calling him a pivotal midfielder.
The player was delighted after the transfer was complete.
"I am delighted to have joined Manchester United," he told ManUtd.com.
"To work with Jose Mourinho once again was an opportunity I couldn't turn down.
"I have enjoyed my time at Chelsea and would like to thank the club and the fans for their support. I cannot wait to meet my new team-mates and to start training with them.
