Chelsea have announced on their official website that goalkeeper Jamal Blackman has signed a new four-year contract with the club.
The 23-year-old was immediately loaned out to Sheffield United in the Championship
Manager Chris Wilder was delighted after the transfer was completed as he revealed that the goalkeeper was his number one target this summer.
"Jamal has been our number one target right the way through the summer," Wilder told the club's official website.
"There was a situation with his new contract at Chelsea so we've had to be patient but we are delighted that he is with us now because there were a few clubs in for him.
"He provides genuine competition in an important area of the pitch."
