Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross says Kurt Zouma will be an important asset for the Potters.
The Frenchman will spend next season on loan at the bet365 Stadium.
He signed a new six-year contract with the Blues before leaving the club.
He featured 13 times for Antonio Conte's Premier League champions last season.
"He's going to help the squad out and I am sure he will prove to be a very good acquisition," Shawcross told reporters.
"There is plenty of competition now for places at the back, which is good, so it is down to the manager to select the two he feels are best suited."
