Football journalist gives massive update on Chelsea's £60million summer transfer target

By

Chelsea are no longer strong favourites to sign Juventus defender Alex Sandro, Italian journalist David Amoyal has claimed.

The Blues were very close to add the Brazilian to their squad at the start of the month but the Bianconeri have now made it clear that the player is not for sale.

"The current Serie A champions turned down [Chelsea's] significant proposal and after already losing two defensive starters in Dani Alves and Leonardo Bonucci, it's not likely that they would let the former Porto left-back leave," Amoyal told ESPN.

"Chelsea's remaining hope is that Sandro pushes for a move despite Juventus' intention to offer him a new contract with a salary in line with their top players."

Manager Antonio Conte is slowly building a very strong squad ahead of next season.

Antonio Rudiger in defence, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata in attack will all add experience and depth to Conte's team ahead of next season's Premier League and Champions League.
