If Chelsea are to make a move for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele then they must wait for the end of the Champions League qualification games.
Manager Brendan Rodgers has made it clear that the player, who is also wanted by Arsenal, is happy and content at the club.
But the former Liverpool manager insists that if any negotiations are to be made, they will only be made after European qualifying.
"Moussa is very content and happy," Rodgers said.
"He is not a player we want to sell, but we know how football works and we'll see what happens.
"But certainly not until after the Champions League qualifiers, there won't be anything done before then."
The 20-year-old has a market transfer value of £25million and is also a target for West Ham United.
