"Chelsea held transfer talks with him over a month ago" - Blues eager to sign £97 million star

By

Chelsea held talks with Robert Lewandowski's agents over a month ago, the Daily Star has revealed.

The Poland international has suddenly become one of the most wanted players on the market.

In a recent interview he declared that he was not happy with the lack of support received by his teammates in the last part of the season.

Bayern Munich made it clear on Thursday that the striker is not for sale but the Blues are still keeping an eye on him in case they fail to secure the services of Romelu Lukaku.

"Lewandowski does not want to leave Bayern. There are no talks with other clubs and there won't be any," Bayern Munich told Sky Germany.

"Lewandowski's contract expires in 2021. He signed it not long ago. If other clubs negotiate with long-term contracted players they risk a FIFA penalty."
