Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Juventus full-back Alex Sandro, Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri has revealed.
Juventus confirmed at the start of the week that the Blues are interested in securing the services of the Brazilian.
"Chelsea made a very big offer for Alex Sandro," Marotta told Corriere della Sera.
"We said no, but today players are masters of their own destiny."
Reports in England have claimed that the 26-year-old is at the top of Antonio Conte's shopping list for this summer's transfer window.
Palmeri has however also said that negotiations between the two clubs are "complicated" and this is because the player wants to move to Stamford Bridge but the Serie A champions don't want to sell him.
Juventus will lose Dani Alves this summer and have no intention of losing another key element in Massimiliano Allegri's defensive department.
