Personal terms agreed: Chelsea to announce first summer signing by the end of the week

By

Metro has confirmed the news that Chelsea will soon announce the signing of former Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero.

The 35-year-old will become Antonio Conte's first summer signing and will take over from Asmir Begovic who left the club to sign for Bournemouth.

The Argentine was released by the Citizens at the end of the season despite enjoying a nice run under manager Pep Guardiola.

Conte was eager to replace the Bosnian and will be delighted to have added plenty of experience ahead of a tough season in the Premier League and Champions League.

The former Malaga stopper will sign on a free transfer.

He had offers from Spain, Argentina and Italy but decided to stay in the English Premier League.
