"Chelsea have made a £44million offer" - Blues make approach to sign one of Antonio Conte's targets

By

Chelsea have offered £44million to sign Juventus defender Alex Sandro but the Bianconeri have rejected the offer, Calciomercato.com has revealed.

The 26-year-old is one of the main targets of manager Antonio Conte for the summer.

The Serie A champions have no intention of selling one of their most important defenders but the Blues are ready to make an improved offer in the coming weeks.

After signing for Juventus, the Brazilian confirmed that he is a very versatile player, able to play in a three-defender setup and also in a four-defender formation.

"I'm used to playing in both a back three and a back four," Sandro said two years ago.

"Obviously in a three-man defence the left-sided defender has to push harder to join the attacks, but as I say I can play in either a three-man or a four-man backline."
