Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has confirmed that he wants to sign at least one more defender before the end of the summer transfer window.
The Blues have been linked with Kalidou Koulibaly and Shkodran Mustafi in recent weeks but the Napoli man will stay in Italy and the German is set to join Arsenal.
And the Italian made it clear that he is working "very hard" to find the right players before deadline day.
"I think we need to sign some players," he said on Friday afternoon.
"We have too few players in defence and we are working with the club to find a solution.
"We arrive after a season which was not so good but we are working very hard to improve the situation but, if you ask me, the real target of this squad now is very difficult.
"We need to pass more time to have a better answer game by game. I have contact every day but I discuss this with the club. We must find solutions.
"For [Juan] Cuadrado, we are waiting on the situation.
"It must become more clear about his position at the club. Now he is Chelsea's player and today he had training with us."
