Chelsea are reportedly confident of sealing Romelu Lukaku's return to Stamford Bridge despite seeing a £57m bid turned down by Everton, the Daily Star has revealed.
Manager Antonio Conte has given up on trying to sign Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata after the Spanish giants confirmed that the 23-year-old is not for sale.
He has therefore turned his attention to the Belgium international who has proven himself to be a top striker during his stay at Everton.
It is unclear whether the Blues want to sign the Belgian to replace striker Diego Costa.
Recent reports have claimed that even though the Spaniard featured in Chelsea's third kit launch he still wants to leave to return to Atletico Madrid.
Lukaku has told close friends that he has "unfinished business" at Stamford Bridge and would be delighted to make a return to London.
