Chelsea drove themselves one step closer to the signing of N’Golo Kante after Leicester City announced the signing of Nampalys Mendy.
The Foxes spent £13million to sign the midfielder from Nice as a clear indication that Kante could leave the club during the summer transfer window.
According to The Sun, manager Antonio Conte will deploy the Frenchman in a 4-2-4 formation alongside experienced midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
In recent weeks, reports have claimed that Real Madrid have joined the race to sign the 25-year-old.
Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with a possible move for the player.
Kante enjoyed a very positive campaign at Leicester City last season as he was one of the key players in Claudio Ranieri's title-winning side.
He also enjoyed plenty of regular first-team football at the 2016 Euro Championship and is expected to start on Thursday against Germany in the semi-final.
