Roma have rejected Chelsea's third attempt to sign attacking midfielder Radja Nainggolan, Calciomercato.it has revealed.
But the Blues are not ready to give up.
According to the article, they will wait for Roma's Champions League playoff and will make a new attempt to sign the Belgium international if the Giallorossi fail to make it into the group stage of the competition.
Failing to qualify for the main draw of the Champions League could force the Giallorossi to sell the 28-year-old in order to invest in new players.
At the end of last week, the Belgian confirmed that he doesn't want to leave the Serie A giants.
"The Premier League is another good competition, but I think sometimes in life you need to make choices," he said.
"I don't know what will be my future but I just can say that where I am I'm happy."
