Sky Sports expert Guillem Balague says Chelsea have made a first offer of £38million to sign Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.
The Spain international is a target for three Premier League clubs according to recent reports with Juventus having pulled out of the race because they don't possess the financial resources to sign him on a permanent basis.
"Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are waiting to see if they have a chance to get him," Balague told Sky Sports News.
"The first to put an offer in seems to be Chelsea - about 50m euros [£38million].
"Real Madrid want to keep him but they don't want to keep an unhappy player."
The Blues continue to be in pole position after manager Antonio Conte made personal contact with the player.
