Former Arsenal midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup has been backed to join Chelsea by Besiktas president Fikret Orman.
The Turkish made numerous appearances for the Arsenal Academy and Arsenal Reserves before he made his competitive first team debut for Arsenal in a League Cup match against Shrewsbury Town.
He left the club in the summer of 2012 but Besiktas president Fikret Orman believes he is ready to make a return in the English Premier League.
"Last season, Lazio made an approach for Oguzhan, but I didn’t want him to go there," Orman told Turkish radio station TRT.
"Lazio are an average side in Italy.
"Besiktas are bigger than them.
"If Oguzhan goes to Europe, it should be to a team of the calibre of Chelsea."
