Chelsea have been given the all clear to sign Antonio Rudiger, after Roma reportedly failed with their attempts to land the Stuttgart defender, Metro has reported.
The Giallorossi have identified the 22-year-old as an important element for this season but are yet to reach an agreement with the German club.
The defender, also a target for Arsenal, missed some of pre-season training due to a knee injury that required surgery.
In the past, the player was also followed by Internazionale and Napoli but now it seems they have pulled out of the race.
Jose Mourinho is believed to be lining up a £20m to secure the services of the player.
