Augsburg coach Markus Weinzierl has confirmed that Chelsea want to sign left-back Baba Rahman.
According to reports in England, the Blues are set to announce the transfer of the player imminently.
The 21-year-old is available for £21.2m and will take over from Filipe Luis who left Stamford Bridge to rejoin Atletico Madrid.
"I would like to continue working with all players, but when you sign someone like Baba from the second division and he's on Chelsea's radar 12 months later, it does make the coaching staff proud," Weinzierl told Kicker.
"It's striking that, after Matthias Ostrzolek, our left-back is interesting other clubs for the second consecutive year.
"That's down to our style of play. We are very active on the full-back positions, and the left-back profits from the good teammates on his side."
