Chelsea and Roma warned over pursuit of £14m Ghanaian left-back

By

Augsburg chairman Jonas Hoffman says the club has no need to sell Chelsea and Roma target Baba Rahman.

Reports claim that the Blues want to sign the 21-year-old to replace Filipe Luis who will leave the club to return to Atletico Madrid.

But Hoffman says the left-back, who is also a target for Roma in the Serie A, is a key player for Augsburg and will not be sold this summer.

"We do not need the Baba millions," he told Bild.

"We have a good, solid team here.

"I am very optimistic that Baba will continue his great performances with us. He's made a very good impression at our recent training camp.

"Why keep Baba? I am an Augsburg fan. To me, it's more important that I spend the evening watching Augsburg win with a beer in my hand than when we have more money in the bank account.

"There's no need to even talk about an offer under €20m, as I've previously stated."
