Everton have rejected a £20m bid from Chelsea for John Stones but the Blues will soon make an improved £26m offer.
The 21-year-old has been identified by boss Jose Mourinho as the ideal successor to John Terry after an impressive season with the Toffees last year.
On Thursday, the youngster confessed that he is happy at Everton and that his objective for the new season is to learn from team-mate Phil Jagielka.
"I am very happy at Everton," he said.
"My aim right now is to try to nail down a regular spot in this Everton team and hopefully that will take care of playing for England.
"I have to keep learning from the likes of Phil Jagielka and keep progressing at this club."
