Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, one of the main collaborators of transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, has confirmed that Chelsea and Roma are both "in talks" to sign Augsburg defender Abdul Rahman Baba.
The fullback has been heavily linked with a possible move to the English Premier League with Chelsea ready to add him to their squad.
Last week, sporting director Stefan Reuter revealed that no official offers have been made for the Ghanaian but the Blues are this week expected to intensify their efforts to land the 21-year-old.
"Baba's got a long-term contract and said numerous times that he's feeling very comfortable here," Reuter is quoted as saying by London 24.
"We haven't got any offers so it's not relevant for us at the moment. However, if his development continues like this it is possible that he might leave us some time in the future.
"If a player from Augsburg can make the move to a top club in Europe and the numbers add up we will discuss it and consider whether or not it makes sense.
"I don't see him leaving this summer."
