Chelsea are set to rival Manchester City in the race to land Raheem Sterling this summer, the Daily Star reports.
The Liverpool winger continues to be one of the most wanted players ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Reds have formally rejected two bids from the Citizens, including a £35.5m offer made at the start of the month.
Two days ago, Chelsea captain John Terry was full of praise for the youngster, calling him "an exceptional player" with an ambition to play in next season's Champions League.
"Raheem has taken a bit of stick recently, but I was really impressed by him," Terry told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show.
"I didn't realise how good he was until I played against him three or four times. He's an exceptional player.
"At times he's been unfairly treated this year with the press he's got. He's a young player and wants to play at the very top for the very best.
"He's got ambitions to play in the Champions League and continue playing for his country."
