Former Chelsea midfielder Gael Kakuta says his Spanish Liga experience with Rayo Vallecano was the reason why he decided to leave the Blues to join Sevilla.
The Frenchman spent last season on loan at Rayo and opted to sign a four-year deal with Sevilla after deciding to leave Stamford Bridge.
He never managed to secure a regular place in Jose Mourinho's squad where he played only 16 games for the club in all competitions.
"If I'm here then it's because of what I did last season [with Rayo]," he said at his official unveiling.
"I hope to show my quality [at Sevilla] and perform even better than I did last year.
"Although [Thimothee Kolodziejczak] is my friend, I'm not here for him. I'm here because the club have opted to sign me.
"I really like the football that Sevilla play and it's one of the things that brought me here.
"My objective is to find serenity and tranquillity [in my career]. After several loan spells, I hope to get both at Sevilla.
"My role will be decided by the coach. I'm here to give everything."
