Chelsea are in talks over a deal to sign Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic as their new second choice goalkeeper, Goal.com reports.
Reserve goalkeeper Petr Cech is set to leave Stamford Bridge to join Arsenal this summer with the Portuguese ready to sign the 27-year-old to provide backup for regular goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
The Blues are expected to make an official offer at the start of next week although boss Mark Hughes said that his desire is to keep the goalkeeper at the club at least for one more season.
"Asmir is very much our player, which we are really pleased about. He is playing on Sunday and is somebody that we want to keep here, as I have said many times before," Hughes said last month.
"We will sit down with him, speak to him and his people and look for those talks to come to a positive conclusion."
