Didier Drogba rubbishes Olympique de Marseille return rumours

By

Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba will not return to Olympique de Marseille next season.

Last month, agent Thierno Seydi suggested that the 37-year-old was pondering a move to his former club after deciding not to renew his contract with Chelsea.

But the striker says he is yet to decide where he will play his football next season.

"After a while, this has to stop," Drogba is quoted as saying by Get French Football News.

"I did not ask for these rumours. I like the Marseille fans, I myself am a supporter of Marseille but they must stop branding rumours about like that on with my name."

Last month, his agent was quoted as saying by the London Evening Standard: "Is Didier ready to return to Marseille? I stand by his words, he always kept the door open.

"Opportunities have already shown in the past, but it had not been possible for various reasons.

"Today he could contribute his experience, have more playing time and take on that leadership role of the locker room like he had at Chelsea."
