Atletico Madrid defender Toby Alderweireld will meet with the club next week to discuss his future ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old spent last season on loan at Southampton and is a target for Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur according to reports.
The Saints have an option to sign the player for around £6.4m but the possibility of featuring in the Champions League puts the Blues in pole position.
"I will go back to Spain next week and we will talk," Alderweireld told Sky Sports News HQ.
"We will see what happens. I hope a decision will be made quickly, otherwise it will be all summer.
"I don't know if Chelsea are interested but I have read a little bit in the press. Let's see what comes up and I will make a decision. We will see what clubs come in."
